Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) allows students to earn high school Co-op credits while also earning hours towards an Apprenticeship trade certification.
The goal of OYAP is to expose students to careers in trades and technology and increase the high school graduation rate. With over 160 careers to choose from, the skilled trades sector is worth exploring.
An OYAP student is defined as a student who is receiving Cooperative Education credits for work experience in an Apprenticeship occupation. Students may or may not be formally registered as an apprentice while in secondary school.
